Abstract: NGC3576 is a luminous HII region in the Carina arm, powered by a very young and massive star cluster. The most luminous members (probably O-type star progenitors) are still enshrouded in their natal cocoon. Some of those objects display CO in emission or absorption, a signature of accretion disks around YSOs. The luminosity function is similar to those found in other young clusters, suggesting a universal IMF through our Galaxy.
