Abstract: |
In order to investigate to what extent nuclear starbursts or activity may be connected with enhanced star formation in the host galaxy, we performed a statistical investigation of supernovae (SNe) discovered in different sample of galaxies, namely Markarian, Second Byurakan Survey (SBS), the North Galactic Pole (NGP) active or star forming (A/SF) and normal galaxies. We find that the rate of SNe, particularly core-collapse ones, is higher in A/SF galaxies in comparison with normal galaxies and that the radial distribution of SNe in A/SF galaxies shows a higher concentration towards the center of the host galaxy than is the case of normal host galaxies. |
