Abstract: This is a mini-presentation of three subjects, which are all related to the atmospheric motion in post-AGB stars. First, a summary of my 1990 equation of a driven stellar oscillator that exhibits chaotic solutions. Second, an advertisement for the subtle interplay of hydrodynamics, gas/dust drift, gas chemistry, dust formation, and radiation pressure, as presented in the thesis by Simis. Third, a new model equation for nonspherical stellar oscillations that resembles the FPU-equation which shows permanent non-equilibrium, with possibly intermittent solutions.
