Paper: Angular Momentum Transport During Type I X-Ray Bursts

Abstract: Type I X-ray burst oscillations provide not only a window on the neutron star spin in low mass X-ray binaries, but also on Type I bursts themselves. In particular, burst oscillations are a promising probe of the rotational evolution of the burning layers, and the recoupling with the underlying star. I discuss simple estimates of the possible recoupling, mixing and angular momentum transport mechanisms, topics ripe for numerical simulation.
