| Abstract: |
Agekian's factor is proposed as a suitable measure of the mass scatter within a stellar system. Chandrasekhar's formula for the relaxation time is analysed from this point of view and an amendment of it is proposed, where another measure of the mass scatter is introduced, which has the same qualitative behaviour as Agekian's factor. A suggestion for the future work is to study in more details the relationship between these two measures of the mass scatter. |
