This chapter presents a very brief overview of the Aladin tool used within the Virtual Observatory, amongst others, to view images and catalog data. This discussion is intended to help a new user begin to explore Aladin’s capabilities. Much more complete documentation is available in the Aladin online documentation at http://aladin.u-strasbg.fr. The chapter discusses Aladin version 3. Version 4 of Aladin has recently been released and has even more capabilities, but the features discussed here have not been changed. |
