Abstract: The broad emission feature around 22 μm in the Carina nebula indicated by ISO/SWS observations has been confirmed and its spatial distribution was investigated by Spitzer/IRS observations. The present results indicate that the band feature peaks at a wavelength slightly longer than the SWS spectrum (∼ 23.5 μm). The feature is seen strongly in the ionized region Car-I E, but is absent in the molecular cloud, suggesting that the band carriers may be produced or processed in the vicinity of the ionization front. A possible relation of the feature to star-formation of massive stars is discussed.
