Abstract: |
This paper presents a view of radio-astronomy technology over the interval of 1957 to 2057, with the prediction that receiver cost will be reduced by a factor of 1 million. Some areas of this technology such as single-chip receivers and low-noise amplifiers are briefly described, along with suggested radio-astronomy goals. Recommendations regarding the Square Kilometer Array and the future NRAO technology program are presented. |
