Abstract: The X-ray Telescope (XRT) on-board Hinode shows stunning images of reconnection events associated with flares. These flares release a large fraction of their energy in the EUV and X-rays. In a recent paper by Schwadron et al. (2006), the relationship between x-ray luminosity, magnetic flux and the power available for solar wind acceleration was explored. Using Hinode XRT data from AR 10960 and complementary magnetic field data, we examine the x-ray luminosity with respect to the magnetic field flux. These results are compared with the predicted power of the solar wind and measurements taken at the ACE spacecraft at 1AU.
