The website created for the U.S, national program for the International Year of Astronomy, http://www.astronomy2009.us—coordinated by the American Astronomical Society as the IAU-designated U.S. national node—provides information and important links for a variety of initiatives developed by a series of working groups covering nine areas of endeavor. This brief article summarizes the nine areas and the working groups’ initial plans—for further investigation by the reader as those plans develop. |
