Abstract: |
Photo Story is a program from Microsoft that was initially designed to allow users to import photos and then add music, voice narration, titles, and motion to create slide shows from these photos. I use Photo Story in other ways. First, I can create dynamic astronomy presentations by taking pictures from the web, adding motion and music, and then presenting them anywhere in the world by posting them online. This will be especially useful to present to the general public or my students during the 2009 International Year of Astronomy. Second, I take power point slides from my publisher, create JPEG files from them, and create video lectures for my online students. Even with dial-up or limited Internet access, the students can access their video lectures because it streams in real time as it loads. This is important because the students feel like they are back in a real classroom. |
