Abstract: We present the results of our systematic infrared 2.5–35 μm low-resolution spectroscopy of ultraluminous infrared galaxies (ULIRGs). We detected the signatures of optically-elusive, but intrinsically luminous, buried AGNs in a significant fraction of optically non-Seyfert ULIRGs. The energetic importance of buried AGN increases with increasing galaxy infrared luminosity, which may support the widely-proposed AGN feedback scenario as the origin of galaxy downsizing phenomenon.
