Abstract: |
We present numerically simulated flux and polarization spectra of starlight reflected by clear and cloudy Jupiter-like extrasolar planets. In particular the polarization spectra depend strongly on atmospheric structure and composition, and on the planetary phase angle. The spectra illustrate the strength of polarimetry for extrasolar planet detection and characterization. |
