Abstract: |
Thermal diagnostic analysis can be performed with Hinode/XRT across a temperature range of log T = 5.5 to ∼8.0. We characterize the temperature discrimination abilities of the XRT passbands when used as a set, independently of DEM solution methods. We consider how the temperature diagnostic capability is uneven across the useful temperature range. This information could be useful in designing thermal studies to increase the robustness of the temperature solutions, and in interpreting XRT data with physical models. Hinode is a Japanese mission developed and launched by ISAS/JAXA, with NAOJ as domestic partner and NASA and STFC (UK) as international partners. It is operated by these agencies in co-operation with ESA and the NSC (Norway). This work was supported under NASA contract NNM07AB07C. |
