Abstract:	Results of recent laboratory experiments on the formation of molecular hydrogen on surfaces of astrophysical interest and in condition close to those encountered in the interstellar medium are reviewed. Deductions on the mechanisms responsible for the hydrogen molecule formation reaction and theoretical modeling of the relevant process are also presented.
