I demonstrate that there is no conflict between the observed distribution of faint galaxies in voids and the predictions of CDM. Although there is an abundance of low-mass halos in voids, galaxy bias dictates that these halos do not contain dwarf galaxies. To calibrate my model of galaxy bias, I constrain the galaxy-halo connection to match the mean properties of the overall galaxy distribution. The only assumption is then that the galaxy-halo connection is independent of environment. With this simple assumption, the distribution of voids and void galaxies matches all available data. |
