Abstract: |
WD2116+736 is a hot DA white dwarf probably located outside the Local Bubble. Atomic and molecular gas is seen in the FUSE spectra in the form of H I, C II, C II*, N I, N II, O I, Si II, P II, Ar I, Fe II and H2. This paper presents a study of the gas physical conditions along this sight line. Deuterium is also present toward WD2116+736. Our analysis, however, shows that an accurate measurement cannot be given with the data currently available. Analysis of molecular hydrogen suggests the presence of warm (∼420 K) neutral gas with a molecular fraction of ∼ 10−5. Our results for the O/H, N/H and Fe/H ratios are consistent with the ratios found for the Local Bubble. |
