Abstract:	The paper attempts to provide brief answers to the questions: What will be the form of future libraries? Will there be libraries in the future? It presents an overview of the latest technologies such as digital libraries, metadata harvesters, SRU/SRW, and Web 2.0 along with some services provided by the Documentation Research and Training Centre of the Indian Statistical Institute. It also presents a brief sketch of future semantic web technology and the role of library and information professionals in providing web-based information services.
