Abstract: Ten years ago, Sarah Stevens-Rayburn and Ellen Bouton presented a paper entitled “If it’s not on the Web, it doesn’t exist at all: Electronic Information Resources — Myth and Reality.” How much has changed since this paper was presented? The STScI Library is in a unique position to explore this question. In 2008, we underwent a massive renovation during which time our print collection was sequestered in a storage area for nine months. Our newly refurbished library had 30% less shelf space than the original. This prompted us to ask the questions “How much of it is online?” “Do we need to keep the print?” “How can we tie our print collection to online research tools?” and “How do different parts of our collection behave?”
