Abstract: |
We present the results of recent studies of binarity and multiplicity of chemically peculiar stars. The rate of binarity is strongly varying among different sub-classes, which encompass magnetic Ap and Bp stars, HgMn stars, and metallic-line Am stars. The obtained observational results are discussed in the context of understanding the mechanisms generating chemical peculiarities and of A and B star formation in general. |
