| Abstract: |
On the occasion of the International Year of Astronomy, I was
commissioned to create a mural for the University of Michigan
Department of Astronomy, responding to an array of scientific images
based on astronomical research, with special focus on the work of
University of Michigan astronomers carried out within the building.
My paper illustrates the development of this and several subsequent
projects, explaining the implications for my artistic practice of
entering into this conversation with astronomers and their work. |
