Abstract: |
Two new compilations of nuclear reaction rates for proton captures on
light and intermediate-mass nuclei have recently been published.
In the light of these improvements and the upgraded version of the
FRANEC code, we present some results of nucleosynthesis in
non-convective mixing episodes occurring in low-mass AGB stars.
Special attention is paid to the temporal evolution of the oxygen
and aluminum isotopic mix in AGB envelopes, by comapring the model
predictions to the abundances in presolar oxide grains. Important new
results emerge on these issues, yielding consequences for the initial
mass of the stellar progenitors of oxide grains. |
