Abstract: Central depths of spectral lines and molecular bands and spectrophotometric gradients have been measured in the spectra of 51 bright carbon stars. The values obtained are correlated with the effective temperatures given by Bergeat et al. (2001). A good correlation of the spectrophotometric gradient [7570-6850] with effective temperature is found.
