Abstract: |
The “Frontiers in X-ray astronomy” splinter session presented
recent discoveries and new topics of the field of stellar X-ray astronomy.
The focus was on three topics that go beyond X-ray emission from solar-type dynamo action.
We covered the fields of X-ray emission at the edges of the “stellar magnetic activity strip,” magnetic Ap stars and brown dwarfs,
further high-energy phenomena in young stars and jets and multi-wavelength campaigns
and finally the interaction of stars and planets.
These science themes were chosen to highlight new X-ray phenomena and debated topics that are
of interest for a broader community including non X-ray scientists. |
