Abstract: The distribution of stellar ages shows a distinct difference among star forming regions in NGC 2264. The result indicates that the star formation in NGC 2264 started from surface region at about 6 – 7 Myr ago, and propagated into the molecular cloud, and finally triggered the star formation at Spokes cluster recently. A kind of sequential star formation started from the low-density surface region implies that the star formation in NGC 2264 was triggered by an external source.
