Abstract: Magnetohydrodynamic seismology aims to determine difficult to measure physical parameters in the solar corona by a combination of observed and theoretical properties of waves and oscillations. We describe relevant examples of the application of seismology techniques to transversely oscillating coronal loops and prominence fine structures. We also show how the use of statistical techniques, based on Bayesian inference, can be of high value in the determination of physical parameters in these structures, by consistently taking into account the information from observations.
