Abstract: |
This is a short review on the models of coronal mass ejections (CMEs), especially focusing on the magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) aspect of CMEs. There are three important issues in CME dynamics, such as the topology of magnetic field producing a CME, the driving mechanism for eruption, and the so-called three-part structure of a CME. After showing how each model explains those three issues, we discuss a view that a CME is a stage of the continuous evolution starting from the emergence of a twisted flux tube into the solar atmosphere. The concept of continuous evolution sheds some light on future modeling of CMEs. |
