Abstract: Type Ia Supernovae (SNe Ia) are mature cosmological standardized candles, leading to the discovery of the accelerating expansion of the Universe. Although there is a general consensus that they are thermonuclear explosions of a white dwarf, details of the explosion mechanism have not yet been fully clarified. Furthermore, there are observational diversities of SNe Ia whose origins have not yet been specified. In this paper, we argue that asymmetry in the thermonuclear explosion can be a solution on these issues, where the diversity arising from various viewing angles corresponds to various observational diverse properties of SNe Ia. This idea could open up a possibility of using SNe Ia as more precise distance indicators than currently employed.
