Abstract: A non-adiabatic analysis of Population III star instabilities was carried out, taking into account the perturbation of nuclear energy generation. We found a vibrational instability caused by the varepsilon-mechanism, due to the 3He-3He reaction of the pp-chain for Population III stars with mass M ≤ 13 M. We also investigated the metallicity dependence of the stability, and found that stars with Z ≤ 10–4 located on the left side of the classical instability strip are vibrationally unstable. Besides that, we found that, after the onset of the CNO-cycle, in the Population III stars, g-modes of a wide range of degree ℓ become unstable due to Kato's mechanism.
