Abstract: |
The Haystack & AOSS Ray Tracer (HART) is a software tool for modeling
propagation of electromagnetic radiation through a realistic description of the magnetized solar corona, along with the associated radiative transfer effects.
Its primary outputs are solar brightness temperature (or flux density) images corresponding to a user-specified coronal description and radio frequency.
HART is based on native high-efficiency algorithms coded in the C language, and provides convenient command-line (Python)
and graphical user interfaces.
HART is a necessary tool for enabling the extraction of solar physics from the images that will be produced by the new generation of low radio frequency arrays like the Murchison Widefield Array (MWA),
Low Frequency Array (LOFAR)
and Long Wavelength Array (LWA). |
