Abstract: The ZZ Leporis stars comprise a good dozen PN central stars with effective temperatures around 40000 K. Whereas their photometric and spectroscopic variability has been known for over 25 years, an unambiguous interpretation of its cause has not yet been possible. New observations of the central star of NGC 6826, a known ZZ Lep star, with the Kepler spacecraft, resolve this problem. The variability is caused by density enhancements in the stellar wind; rotational light variations are present in addition. We present the Kepler light curves and discuss the ZZ Lep stars as a class.
