Abstract: It is essential to properly calibrate the instrumental polarization for solar telescopes, if one wants to achieve a high spectro-polarimetric accuracy. Model fitting is an efficient calibration method for telescopes with alt-azimuth mount. We have constructed an ideal model for the New Vacuum Solar Telescope (NVST) which describes its pupil and time-dependent polarization properties. An integration of polarization ray-tracing in pupil is implemented for solving the net polarization of main optics. The time and season-dependent polarization of the Coudé optics is calculated based on the NVST geometry and complex refractive index of ideal Al film.
