Abstract: Long-term data acquisition on the cataclysmic variable V455 Andromedae from October 2007 to 2013 revealed its rotation period to be 67.61970396 ± 0.00000074 s. We constrain its rate of change of spin period with time: dPspin /dt=(–7.8±7.0)×10–15 s/s using the O-C method, and (-6.0 ± 6.2) × 10–15 s/s with a direct non-linear least squares fit. Given the large uncertainties, we do not claim to find any significant detection of a changing spin period for the duration October 2007–2013. We derive the periodic modulation in the O-C diagram due to the orbital motion of a clock in an elliptical orbit, and then show that this effect is negligible for our case.
