Abstract: |
Gaia was launched last 19 December 2013 and it will produce in a short term one of the biggest and most complete source catalogs in astronomy.
That represents a challenge on different areas: validation, big data management, comparison with other catalogs and the effort to create relevant
web services to make accessible this information to the astronomers in an efficient way. We present the current status of the Gaia Archive implementation,
including the TAP+ interface, crossmatch capabilities, full catalog operations like, e.g., full sky histograms generation and the future plans ongoing to be
prepared for the Gaia catalog distribution in 2015. Also, we present the workflow followed to share data and services with all the different groups inside the
Gaia Consortium, one of the biggest cooperation projects in astronomy, in order to interface with the main Gaia Archive at ESAC (European Space Astronomy Centre)
and how the data will be propagated to the different main data centres across Europe. |
