Paper: Protostellar Disk Formation Traced by Chemistry

Abstract: Recent ALMA observations are revealing formation processes of a disk structure around a young protostars at an unprecedented spatial resolution. A few recent highlights in this area are reviewed with particular emphasis on chemistry. Our discovery of centrifugal barrier of an infalling rotating envelope gas and associated drastic chemical change are presented as an example. Chemical compositions can be used to explore not only the chemical evolution from protostellar cores to protoplanetary disks but also the physical formation process of rotationally supported disks in protostellar sources.
