Abstract: |
Current software tools for image processing and analysis are intended for general purposes. Unfortunately, common tools are not designed to be extended and augmented with externally implemented features. As a consequence, image processing tools are chained in a cumbersome and ad-hoc fashion.
This short paper presents AstroCloud, an agile visualization platform for specific analyses of astronomical images. AstroCloud is a multipurpose tool intended in the first place for astronomical data, which will serve as an interface for different kinds of algorithms. AstroCloud is designed to be easily extensible. Additionally, it supports 2D and 3D rendering, including interactive features in real time. AstroCloud is under development and, in the near future, we expect to offer more interactive choices for physical analyzes. |
