Abstract: We have computed theoretical He I line profiles by means of LTE models for the photosphere of B stars. In these models we have taken into account the effect of the Lorentz force in the equation of hydrostatic equilibrium following the procedure of Valyavin, Kochukhov, & Piskunov (2004). We analyze the influence of a magnetic field on the line profiles. This mechanism can explain the variations in line profile and the stability of the continuum flux of some He-variable stars. We discuss the determination of abundances in magnetic stars.
