| Abstract: |
The Education and Public Outreach Team (EPO) will create multiple strategies to enable members of the public to explore data from the Large Synoptic Survey Telescope (LSST). LSST EPO will develop a Skyviewer tool as well as a dynamic website. LSST EPO will also work with science content developers and scientists who develop citizen science projects from LSST data. Education investigations will access large data sets using JavaScript-based online notebooks. Interactive tools within the notebooks will be used to query and explore data, eliminating the need to download files and software. This will shorten the classroom time needed and will shift emphasis to understanding the science. |
