Abstract: ipyaladin is a Jupyter/IPython widget enabling the interactive visualization of HiPS (Hierarchical Progressive Surveys) images in the notebook environment. We will present the general architecture and the main features of the library: visualization of a given target for a given HiPS or overlay of an Astropy table for instance. We will also detail how the user can add listeners to invoke Python code upon predefined events such as hovering or clicking on a catalogue source. ipyaladin is available on github and can be easily installed from the pip package manager.
