In recent years the software industry has been migrating from monolithic work systems to collaborative environments, motivated by the development of new technological tools (DevOps) as well as changes in the internal work culture of organizations (Agility).
This paper is about how these paradigms are operating in the ALMA Observatory, through a joint effort between the Software and Science departments to provide advanced science services under a microservice-based collaborative platform, internally called the ALMA API. |
