Abstract: We combine high resolution spectro-polarimetric observations of the cold active star ε Eridani obtained with HARPS, NARVAL and CAOS (Catania Astrophysical Observatory Spectropolarimeter). We develop a code for the measurement of the effective magnetic field based on the slope method, and we measure the effective magnetic field of ε Eri, reporting a periodical variation of the longitudinal field of the star, which is probably due to a dynamo process.
