Abstract: |
We find a ring structure in the 13CO J=1–0 archival data taken with the Nobeyama 45-m telescope. In the velocity channel images at VLSR = –150 km s-1 and +170 km s-1, we see a prominent pair of crescent-shaped emission regions, which forms a complete oval when the two velocity channels are coadded. The oval, approximately 50×40 pc in size, has a molecular gas mass of 106 M☉, and it encircles the region of brightest diffuse X-ray emission observed by Suzaku and other telescopes. This hints a possibility that the molecular gas in the Central Molecular Zone is in physical interaction with the expanding hot plasma. |
