Abstract: Massive clusters forming in the inner galactic regions and migrating inward due to the action of dynamical friction can deliver to the Galactic Centre intermediate mass black holes (IMBHs). This mechanism can explain the recent observations of a number of IMBH candidates. We use state-of-the-art simulations to model the inspiral of a massive cluster harbouring an IMBH in the inner 100 pc from SgrA*. Varying the galaxy density profile, the cluster orbit, and the IMBH mass, we show that the Galactic Centre might harbour at present day a massive IMBH (mass ≃ 104 M) orbiting within a few mpc from SgrA*, or it witnessed the merger of such massive black hole binary (MBBH) a few Gyr ago. Placing constraints on such MBBHs is crucial in the view of future gravitational wave (GW) space missions.
