Abstract: |
Whether you are an astronomer communicating with the public or a museum educator leading work with the public, knowing what audiences are thinking “in the moment” is key to successful engagement. The Astronomical Society of the Pacific has been developing “feedback tactics” science communicators can use to spark curiosity and make audience thinking visible. The ASP also provides training and support on how to interpret the feedback you get and modify your presentations based on audience responses. In this session we will introduce you to engaging astronomy feedback tactics you can use in any informal education environment, including museums, science cafes, science festivals, or out under the stars (This work is funded by the National Science Foundation, NSF DRL AISL #18110222). |
