Abstract: The Berlin Exoplanet Search Telescope (BEST) is a small–aperture, wide–field telescope dedicated to photometric search of extrasolar transit events of Jupiter–sized planets. During an initial phase from 2001 - 2003 BEST was located at the Turinger Landessternwarte Tautenburg, Germany.

Since 2004 BEST has been operating from the Observatoire de Haute Provence (OHP), France to perform variability characterization of target fields of the COROT space mission.
