Abstract: We present the evolution of magnetic field in a solar active region from a series of photospheric vector magnetograms obtained at Huairou Solar Observing Station, longitudinal magnetograms by MDI of SOHO, and white light and 1600 Å images by TRACE. The topological change of magnetic field in the delta active regions in the solar atmosphere can be confirmed by the morphological configuration in the solar atmosphere, which provides the information on the reconnection between the emerging magnetic flux and pre-existing magnetic field, such as in active region 10720. It can be inferred that the delta active regions probably are not formed in the subatmosphere completely before their emergence, as one follows the evolution of the active regions in the solar surface with the emergence of their magnetic flux from the subatmosphere.
