The expected metal enrichment of the intra–cluster medium (ICM), the partition of metals between cluster galaxies and ICM, and the “cold fraction” depend on the stellar IMF. We discuss the predictions of different IMFs by means of a straightforward approach that is largely independent of model details and that can serve as a guideline to select the input parameters and interpret the results of more complex simulations. |
