Abstract: We investigate the halo properties of two populations of high-redshift galaxies which are both candidates to be representative of the first massive (Mhalo > 1012M) galaxies: Lyman-break galaxies and sub-mm galaxies. We find that in models for galaxy formation the latter are the ones living in the most massive haloes, with a relatively narrow spread in halo masses.
