Abstract: In order to believe the claim (Aaronson, 1983; Aaronson and Olszewski, 1988) that the Dra and the UMi dwarf spheroidal galaxies have velocity dispersions an order of magnitude greater than expected, there is a need for multiepoch observations of many, perhaps 20 or more, stars in each system. Here, observations obtained on 17 observing runs between April 1982 and June 1988, are combined to yield 54 observations of 23 stars in Dra and 37 observations of 18 stars in UMi. After detecting and rejecting several velocity variables, a velocity dispersion of approximately 10 km/s is derived for each galaxy.
