Abstract: |
The trigonometric parallax calibration of the field subdwarf main sequence is of vital importance for determining the distance moduli of globular clusters. A multivariate analysis has been performed to assess the dependence of Mv on (B-V) and (Fe/H), using 50 stars having both (1) very accurate trigonometric parallaxes and (2) spectroscopic (Fe/H) determinations. Possible effects on the calibration due to stellar surface gravity and age are discussed. The Lutz-Kelker Delta M corrections are very small for these stars. |
